If you visit Thessaloniki in the summer, you should visit the White Tower (very nice views and an absolute must for every visitor).
Another viewpoint is the OTE Tower (very close to the White Tower).
If you fancy a bit of history, then visit the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki
Rotonda is a good point to explore (especially the shops around it)
Ladadika district is amazing! Good to have some food there as well
Ano Poli/ Kastra (City Walls) really nice for a walk
Please try some souvlaki, gyros, koulouri and bougatsa! They are all so delicious!
Trips very close to Thessaloniki: Meteora, Mount Olympus, Pozar Thermal Baths (Edessa), Pella & Vergina (Alexander the Great!), Chalkidiki Blue Lagoon, Kerkini Lake, Mt. Athos Cruise (there is a documentary at Netflix as well, it is called ATHOS).
